| We will be adding more case studies when we remember to take
photographs during the installations! This page is intended to outline
the durable nature of the camera housings and the permanent "fit
and forget" aspects. We look forward to showcasing some challenging
installations (we can supply cameras with web-based zoom controls
POA). We can also supply solar or wind powered cameras (using gsm)
and also underwater cams....
Case 1:
Installation of a camera requires a 240V power supply, preferably
in an area protected from the elements. The camera is low-voltage
and so is the heater element, used to keep the front aperture
free of condensation and ensure that the camera remains within
it's operating temperature during the winter months. The camera
has an auto-iris lens which prevents damage to the CCD detector
by bright sunlight. Fitted with a varifocal lens allows repositioning
of the cam and zooming in on a particular aspect. This cam has
a manual zoom only.

Image archiving: We can archive camera images
and convert them to any common format (avi, quicktime, realmedia,
PAL).
|
Want to see an example of the sort of information you can
collect and archive? If you have a fast network( > 2MBits/s),
you can view the file as an image
stream directly from our fast media servers. If you
have a firewall or a slow connection, you may need to download
the file and then view it.
|
We can also perform realtime compression and permanent webcasting
installations. If you have an existing webcam, ask us about our
image archiving facility.
Case 2:
This is an example of a camera which was supplied pre-configured.
We pre-set all the network and dialup settings. All that was required
was to plug in the mains and phone connections.
The following pictures show an example of the hardware and a
view from the camera. With this kind of installation, we offer
no warranty other than the manufacturers. This is because the
client must take responsibility for installing the camera in a
location where it cannot be damaged by the elements or stray sunlight.
However, we can offer a range of hardware with different levels
of resilience to the elements (and correspondingly different price
tags!). The advantage is that the client can move the camera wherever
they wish.

This cam was installed as a flood monitoring cam, overlooking
Chichester city centre. The cam can be found at http://www.chichester.gov.uk/leisure/webcam.
Case 3:
Low cost external installation. Looking up at the Malvern Hills
(whereas the aq camera looks down from the Malvern Hills!).

Not a very exciting view, but the cam will be pointed at
something more interesting soon!
